So this has been a debate that has been going on for a while now. "Why use cloth? It's so messy! Who has time for that? Disposible nappies are just soooo much easier and more convenient." Well, we did some research and asked some parents their opinions on why they use cloth instead of disposables. This is what they said.

"The reason i started cloth is because it saves you money in the long run. I never heard about "modern cloth" when my son was born and slowly was introduced. I had a problem where sposies will explode even if not completely full, i had to put bumcream on my little one every nappy change as he was getting nappy rash quite frequently. Since starting cloth not only did i save on nappy purchases but wet wipes and bum cream as well :) ... Another plus is that it's one size so i didnt have to size up everytime and sit with a stack of sposies thats too small. Whats not to love about gorgeous prints?? And then it can be used for the next baby too... I'm going to have my 2nd in october and have enough nappies to do cloth from birth which will save me a ton of money! When I'm done i don't have to worry that its causing harm to the environment as its environmently friendly. Only con about cloth is that you get addicted as there are so many prints and types and more ladies that you want to support." – Irene "I use cloth because it's better for the environment and no chemicals can burn my little ones bum. That's my main reason." – Dominique

" I use cloth because my son is allergic to chemicals. He had the most awful reactions to disposables. Cloth has given him quality of life ." - Stacey " I live in a remote area and using cloth means I don't have to worry about buying enough nappies when I make it to town." - Abigail " I initially wanted to use cloth to save on nappies but as I use them I find I prefer cloth for a few reasons... -They look so cute, baby's bum is dry, they smell fresh. I find disposables have a funny smell when wet or soiled. Environmentally friendly. Extra padding when baby falls and I've also seen worms living in disposables." - Sian
"For me, saving money was my initial motivation. But once I started doing research, I realized how good it is for your baby as well as the environment. The other added benefits like minimum leaks and poosplosians are great too! And of course the cute prints." - Natasha "For me it's definitely about the environment. I feel so bad using a disposable, I keep thinking "this will still be here in 400 years"! Money saving and super cute prints are of course an awesome bonus!" – Isabella

Honestly, I love the quiet, mindful time I spend folding, sorting, stuffing nappies. – Natasha" I use cloth nappies because they are so soft on my little ones very sensitive skin! We went from rashes that pretty much looked like we dipped his bum in acid 90% of the time, since switching to cloth his bum has never had another outbreak, that paired with the huge cost saving and the environmental protection that comes with it just makes me so proud!" - Jo-Anne Honestly, I love the quiet, mindful time I spend folding, sorting, stuffing nappies. – Natasha
