What is a doula? A doula is a person who offers emotional, physical and mental support throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. If you cannot have a doula by your side, a distance doula might be just the thing for you. How does it work?

​

• The client will have 24 hour access to support throughout their pregnancy, birth, and first 2 weeks postpartum. 

• After a doctors visit if the client does not understand something, a doula can explain this to you.

• If you have had previous trauma like sexual abuse or any other things that might become triggers during childbirth, a doula can help you work through these things before giving birth.

• We help prepare parents for their journey by sending them links to videos that can show how a partner can help the birthing person during birth.

• We help the client make informed decisions discussing the risks and benefits to all procedures.

• We can give advice on how to get a malpositioned baby into a good position.

• We are always there to talk about the journey you are on, the highs and lows, the exceptations and the disappointments, and work with and through all of these experiences to make the journey a beautiful one. 

• We give advice on how to breastfeed, how to bottle feed, how to burp a baby, how to bath a baby, and help when their are problems and refer you to other healthcare professionals in the event that you need it. 

• We support parents who go through loss and need to talk about it and help them in finding ways to cope, and live after the loss. 

• A doula is an invaluable resource to a birthing couple, and we are blessed to have the opportunity to walk this path with you.

With distance doulaing we work over whatsapp in order to be able to receive messages 24/7, and skype for any ante-natal classes.
